Official Rules
No Purchase Necessary
1. HERE'S HOW IT WORKS: Write an original 100 words or fewer essay explaining "how you use one sheet of Bounty to clean tough messes."
2. ELIGIBILITY: This Contest is open only to residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older as of 3/2/07. Employees of Procter & Gamble, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to enter, nor are entrants who are professional or former professional writers, or who have had their work previously published. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.
3. HERE'S HOW TO ENTER: Beginning 12:00 PM (noon) (EST) on 3/2/07, visit www.onesheetchallenge.com and follow the on-screen instructions to complete and submit an Official Contest Application. Entries must be received by 12:00 PM (noon) (EST) on 6/30/07. Limit one entry per person per day. If more than one entry is received per person per day, only the first such entry received for that day will be eligible.
4. PRELIMINARY JUDGING: Entries received will be judged to determine 50 Semi-Finalists. Judging will be conducted by D.L. Blair, Inc., an independent judging organization whose decisions are final on all matters relating to this Contest. Judging will be based on the following criteria: Originality & Creativity of Essay 50%; Appropriateness of Essay to Theme 35% and Sincerity of Essay 15%. In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken based on the highest score for "Originality & Creativity of Essay."
5. FINAL JUDGING: The 50 Semi-Finalists will be judged by a panel of experts to determine the Grand through Second Prize winners. Submissions will also be reviewed by the Procter and Gamble Product Development and Legal groups. Judging will be based on the following criteria: Originality & Creativity of Essay 50%; Appropriateness of Essay to Theme 35% and Sincerity of Essay 15%. In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken based on the highest score for "Originality & Creativity of Essay."
6. PRIZES & APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES: 13 prizes with a total approximate retail value of $46,650 available to be won as follows: (1) Grand Prize: Winner will receive a check in the amount of $30,000 to be used towards the ultimate kitchen makeover. (2) First Prizes: Each winner will receive a check in the amount of $8,000 to be used towards the purchase of kitchen appliances. (10) Second Prizes: Each winner will receive a one-year supply of Bounty One Sheet (awarded in the form of 50 free-product coupons, each coupon is valid for a Bounty One Sheet roll) (ARV: $65 per prize (based on an average retail cost of $1.30 per roll). Prizes consist of only the items specifically listed as the prizes. Limit one prize per person.
7. GENERAL RULES: Essay must be written in English. Potential winners (or parent/legal guardian if potential winner is deemed a minor in his/her state of residence) will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability and, if legally permissible, a Publicity Release within 10 days of attempted delivery of same. Noncompliance within this time period or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate will be selected. Potential winners (or parent/legal guardian if potential winner is deemed a minor in his/her state of residence) will be required to submit an affidavit certifying that the essay submitted is their own original work and they hold all rights to the essay, that the essay has not been previously published, has not won a previous prize or award and that they have followed the Official Rules of the Contest. Winners will be notified by phone/mail. Submissions may not contain profanities or obscenities and may not in any way disparage persons or organizations associated with Sponsor or its competitors. Sponsor/judges reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any entry that, in their sole opinion, refers, depicts or in any way reflects negatively upon the Sponsor, the Contest or any other person or entity, or does not comply with these requirements or these Official Rules. Essays must be suitable for presentation in a public forum, in sole determination of judges and/or Sponsor. All material submitted becomes property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Sponsor reserves the right to reproduce the essays in full or edit and enhance the essays at its discretion. Sponsor is authorized to use entries as it sees fit, including usage in advertising. No substitution or transfer of prize by winner permitted. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize or any portion thereof of equal or greater value. By accepting prize, winners (or parent/legal guardian if winner is deemed a minor in his/her state of residence) agree to hold Sponsor, its respective directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of prize. All federal, state and local taxes on prize are the sole responsibility of prize winners. Winners (or parent/legal guardian if winner is deemed a minor in his/her state of residence) assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to the Sponsor and its agencies to use prize winners' names and/or likenesses for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. By participating in this promotion, entrants (or parent/legal guardian if entrant is a minor) agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges which are final. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any promotional materials and the terms and conditions of the Official Rules, the Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing, the offering or the announcement of the prizes or in the administration of the promotion. In no event will more than the stated number of prizes be awarded. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS PROMOTION IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor not responsible for incorrect announcements of any kind, technical hardware or software failures of any kind including any injury or damage to any person's computer related to or resulting from participating in or experiencing any materials in connection with the promotion, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission that may limit a user's ability to participate in the contest. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the promotion if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy the integrity of the program; or if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper administration of the program as determined by Sponsor/judging agency/administrator, in their sole discretion. Proof of submitting an Official Contest Application will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or the like methods of participation will void all such submissions by such methods. Sponsor reserves the right to prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud or tampering is suspected or the individual fails to comply with any requirement of participation as stated herein or with any provision in these Official Rules.
